Вот какое письмо пришло мне на днях из нашей Библейской миссии.

From: Frantz Tissen
To: Everyone who prayed for Kazakhstan
Date: May 17th 2005

Dear brothers and sisters, those who prayed for Kazakhstan! Peace to you!

It’s so precious for us that many brothers and sisters concerned and reacted to our concerns. Praise God! Your prayers were one more confirm that His Church is alive and we are one Body.

On may 10th and 11th in the 1 level of Parliament they discussed the changes to the Law on freedom of religion in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Now the Project goes to Senate. Then to the President to sign it.

So what are the results?

Preliminarily the situation is like that: The articles on missionary activities and children’s raising up were considerably edited. The article which gave the right to the public prosecutor to suspend the activity of a religious unit without sanction given by the judge, was not accepted by the Government.

But still the demand to obligatory, compulsory; mandatory registration and punitive sanctions (fines) is still in the Law.

We don’t know what will happen in the future. We want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts who prayed. We want to ask you to continue to pray. We will try to inform you in future.

With respect,
Frantz TISSEN
